DUT STUDENTS SHOT AT

Today has been anaunced as strike day. Students from Indumiso campus are on strike today and all busses going to Riverside were all cancelled. This is because of what has been hapening in Durban. The news in Durban say that some SRC memembers were arrested for holding someone hostage. The drama from Durban has somehow infuenced us here in Pietermaritzburg, as a result we are all going to suffer. Do students in the Pietermaritsburg campus feel it is right to invovlve ourselves in issues that students from Durban are facing, or should we not invovle our selves that much because clearly our programmes are different and we should take into consideration that we might all go to DUT but our priorities as different campuses are different

  1. it is so sad that sasco is using students for their own benefits. src knew that they have a court interdict but nevertheless they advance to take students in front of milena court which were not allowed to be there, the sad part is that most of the students who were there got injured because of them.

SASCO should be voted out once and for all because they are changing this University to be a striking zone, while they fail to negotiate in time with the management.

  2. This issue of striking and SASCO making irrational decisions for every student at DUT is something that we need to be really focusing our attention on. We not only get affected academicaly but more recently students get shot at. Surely we did not come to DUT to get shot at, and potraying our selves as hooligans who are totaly brainless. Lets start talking about this and see if we cannot find ways of infuencing the decision making of our leaders, that we ourselves vote for
